Is it possible for cooking smoke to set off a home Alarm Detector while unset ?

The Scantronic alarm keeps going off and it happens while we are cooking and whilst it is unset. How is this possible ? can we fix it ?

Yes. My wife uses this as a timer. She goes by the theory when it’s smoken it’s cooken when it’s black it’s done. And our Smoke Alarm cooking timer goes off frequently. Short answer Yes.
